In order to move beyond these limits and prevent self-destruction of human civilization, the author proposes a new methodology for the organization of socioeconomic knowledge-noonomy, which uses technological progress to introduce a rational core into the management of the chaotically developing economy, something which, the author posits, we have failed to accomplish so far due to cultural regression and moral decay.
Systematically substantiating his theory by drawing on a wide range of sources and extensive empirical data, Dr. Bodrunov incorporates various components of rational socio-philosophical, political, and economic analysis with institutional theory and sociocultural analysis and focuses on the geopolitical economy approach to the issue under consideration.
The volume begins with a discussion of the basic principles of the research method used in the book along with the an explanation of how the key role of material production constitutes an essential principle that underlies the approach to explaining social development processes. In the early modern period, real political traumas like civil war and regicide exacerbated what were already perceived ruptures in myths of English descent. William Camden and other scholars had revealed that the facts of history could not justify the Arthurian myths, nor could history itself guarantee any moment of collective origin for the English people. Yet poets and playwrights concerned with the status of the emerging nation state did not respond with new material evidence. Instead, they turned to the literary structures that-through a range of what the author calls mnemonic effects-could generate the experience of a collective past. As Sir Philip Sidney recognized, verse depends upon the repetitions of rhyme and meter; consequently poetry "far exceedeth prose in the knitting up of memory." These poetic and linguistic forms expose national memory as a construction at potential odds with history, for memory operates like language-through a series of signifiers that acquire new meaning as one rearranges and rereads them. Moving from the tragedy Gorboduc (1561) to Dryden's Absalom and Achitophel (1681), Pivetti shows how such "knitting up of memory" created the shared pasts that generate nationhood. His work implies that memory emerges not from what actually occurred, but from the forms that compose it. Or to adapt the words of Paul Ricoeur: "we have nothing better than memory to signify that something has taken place." The same is true even when that "something" is nationhood.

After decades of conversation serving up a mosaic of understandings of Wesleyan evangelism (focusing on proclamation, initiation, and embodiment), Jack Jackson offers a clearer portrait of Wesley's evangelistic vision, understood through the lens of "offering grace." Any discussion of Wesley's vision of evangelism must center on the proclamation of the story of God in Christ. But for John Wesley evangelism was much more than preaching for conversion. This book offers a fresh conception of Wesley's evangelistic vision by analyzing his method of gospel proclamation. Wesley was not constrained by the truncated vision of evangelism that has been dominant since the late nineteenth century, one that all too often centers on group preaching with a sole emphasis on conversion. Rather, he stressed a number of practices that focus on a verbal proclamation of the gospel. These practices occur in a variety of settings, only one of which is public preaching, and result in a number of responses, only one of which is conversion. Of crucial importance for current theological students, clergy, and church leaders around the world, the book demonstrates that visitation, for the purpose of spiritual direction and evangelism, was in many ways the critical leadership and pastoral practice of early British Methodism. This book offers important insights into early Methodism that inform both contemporary practices of evangelism and Christian leadership for both clergy and laity.
