This book introduces to the reader an analytical procedure to characterize the organic-rich Indian Gondwana shale in terms of its elastic, petrophysical, geochemical, and microstructural properties using state-of-the-art laboratory measurements and accounting for the elastic anisotropy, pore microstructure along with rock physics models, image segmentation techniques, and pore network models. As compared to sandstone, shale possesses a more complex origin, strong heterogeneity, and is anisotropic in nature. This makes the characterization of shale rock and the assessment of the potential of the reservoir extremely challenging. The laboratory-measured properties of the reservoir rock are important for the evaluation of the potential of the reservoir rock. These input parameters are utilized to predict variables, build a petrophysical model, and set up strategies in several domains of petroleum engineering and petrophysics. The authors presented the case studies for the identification of prospective shale formation zones in the Indian Gondwana basin that might be used for commercial gas and/or oil production. The scope of this book covers the interest of all researchers and academicians involved in source-rock characterization at the laboratory scale. Furthermore, the source-rock evaluation methods and their many nuances covered here provide excellent reading for geoscience graduates.

Das Beamtenrecht unterscheidet zwei Bewerbertypen bei der Einstellung in den Beamtendienst: den Laufbahnbewerber, der über eine gesetzlich definierte Vor- und Ausbildung verfügt, und den "anderen Bewerber", der statt dessen die erforderliche Befähigung durch Lebens- und Berufserfahrung erworben hat und als Außenseiter den Zugang zum Berufsbeamtentum sucht. Die Existenz des "anderen Bewerbers" provoziert Kritik durch die Möglichkeit fehlender fachlicher Qualifikation, sachfremder Einflußnahme und einer Aushöhlung der Regelform des Laufbahnbewerbers. Dieser Kritik geht der Autor nach.Hierbei stellt Michael Güntner zunächst beide Bewerbertypen idealtypisch gegenüber und beleuchtet anschließend ihre gesetzlichen Voraussetzungen, Erscheinungsformen und Verwendungsarten. Sodann behandelt er das Laufbahnprinzip als verfassungsrechtliche Grundlage des Laufbahnbewerbers, dessen Herkommen, Inhalt, Zweck und Verhältnis zu anderen hergebrachten Grundsätzen des Berufsbeamtentums. Die verfassungsrechtliche Untersuchung des Außenseiters führt zu dem Befund, daß dieser selbst verfassungsrechtlich nicht abgesichert ist, sondern eine legitimationsbedürftige Ausnahme vom Regeltypus des Laufbahnbewerbers darstellt.Der Verfasser schließt mit rechtspolitischen Vorschlägen zur Neufassung der Vorschriften über den "anderen Bewerber".

Und insbesondere: Darf es oder muss es öffentlich-rechtliche Angebote auch im Internet geben? Eine Antwort auf diese Fragen kann nur dann gefunden werden, wenn man grundrechtstheoretischen Boden betritt. Die Konzeption des Art. 5 Abs. 1 Satz 2 GG als "dienende Freiheit" ist Chiffre zur Legitimation eines umfassenden Onlineengagements des öffentlich-rechtlichen Rundfunks. Diese Konzeption trägt den grundlegenden Änderungen der modernen Informationsgesellschaft, in der Medien-Freiheiten Jedermann-Freiheiten sind, nicht Rechnung. Sie besitzt auch keine Anschlussfähigkeit an die europarechtliche Grundrechtsdogmatik, die "dienende (Medien-)Freiheiten" nicht kennt. Erforderlich ist eine (Wieder-)Belebung des individualrechtlichen Kerns der grundrechtlich geschützten Rundfunkfreiheit. Nach Maßgabe der gebotenen (Neu-)Konzeption der grundrechtlichen Kommunikationsverfassung ist eine Vollversorgung des öffentlich-rechtlichen Rundfunks im Internet von Verfassungs wegen unzulässig. Gebührenfinanzierte Onlineangebote des öffentlich-rechtlichen Rundfunks sind nur zulässig, wenn sie im Vergleich zu den Angeboten Privater einen (quantitativen oder qualitativen) kommunikativen Mehrwert begründen.
