Bezugnehmend auf die RS Kattner ist zu fragen: Sind die Berufsgenossenschaften Unternehmen im Sinne der Art. 101 und 102 AEUV? Sie können es im funktionellen Sinne sein oder werden, wenn eine Marktöffnung des Monopols (Aufgabenprivatisierung) vorgenommen wird. Das ist "technisch" möglich, führt aber infolge von Marktversagen und der Unfähigkeit des Marktes, solidarischen Sozialschutz zu organisieren, zu gesellschaftlich unerwünschten Marktergebnissen. Ein Verstoß gegenüber der Dienstleistungsfreiheit im Binnenmarkt (gemäß Art. 56 und 57 AEUV) mag a) entweder nicht vorliegen oder b) vorliegen, aber u. a. mit Blick auf ein Verhältnismäßigkeitsgebot begründbar und daher zulässig sein.Das Hauptergebnis der Analyse ist: Die gesetzliche Unfallversicherung geht nicht über das Ziel einer solidarischen Finanzierung der sozialen Sicherheit hinaus und erfüllt nur Sozialversicherungsaufgaben. Als zentrale Ergebnisse der Analyse wäre zu betonen: Die Wahl dieser Solidarordnung verlangt die Monopolbildung. Der Lastenausgleich zwischen den Berufsgenossenschaften ist in einem System gewinnorientierter privater Versicherungsanbieter durch Privatisierung im Sinne der Marktöffnung nicht möglich und würde so das finanzielle Gleichgewicht des berufsgenossenschaftlichen Systems untergraben. Derartige Marktöffnungen wären mit Risikoselektionen verbunden, die die Konstruktionslogik des Systems nicht nur gefährden, sondern erodieren würden. Hierbei entstehen Probleme der Versicherbarkeit schlechter Risiken. Private Versicherungen sind ferner nicht billiger, werfen höhere Verwaltungskosten auf, und zusätzlich treten neue Transaktionskosten im Vergleich zum berufsgenossenschaftlichen Monopol auf, die volkswirtschaftlich Wohlfahrtsverluste darstellen. Es ist eine Fehleinschätzung, a priori zu behaupten, privatwirtschaftliche Arrangements seien effizienter als öffentliche Monopole.

While doing fieldwork on the remote Indonesian island of Flores, anthropologist Gregory Forth came across people talking about half-apelike, half-humanlike creatures that once lived in a cave on the slopes of a nearby volcano. Over the years he continued to record what locals had to say about these mystery hominoids while searching for ways to explain them as imaginary symbols of the wild or other cultural representations.
Then along came the 'hobbit'. In 2003, several skeletons of a small-statured early human species alongside stone tools and animal remains were excavated in a cave in western Flores. Named Homo floresiensis, this ancient hominin was initially believed to have lived until as recently as 12,000 years ago-possibly overlapping with the appearance of Homo sapiens on Flores. In view of this timing and the striking resemblance of floresiensis to the mystery creatures described by the islanders, Forth began to think about the creatures as possibly reflecting a real species, either now extinct but retained in 'cultural memory' or even still surviving.
He began to investigate reports from the Lio region of the island where locals described 'ape-men' as still living. Dozens claimed to have even seen them.
In Between Ape and Human, we follow Forth on the trail of this mystery hominoid, and the space they occupy in islanders' culture as both natural creatures and as supernatural beings. In a narrative filled with adventure, Lio culture and language, zoology and natural history, Forth comes to a startling and controversial conclusion.

As an example of Innocent's role as a pastor, spiritual director, and moral leader, this book is a valuable complement to the many studies of his secular and political achievements.

With the complete divine drama in view, the book offers synthetic judgments about what remains essential for the "structure" of the sexed body as it travels through history and what may be accidental to the sexed body's "direction" within a particular theo-dramatic act. Ashton concludes by considering ways to transition from dogmatic judgments about intersexuality to the moral-pastoral care of concrete intersex individuals, briefly thinking about the complex matter of marriage.

Examining the rise and fall of East Asian powers over 1,500 years, Beyond Power Transitions offers a new perspective on the forces that shape war and peace. Xinru Ma and David C. Kang argue that focusing on the East Asian experience underscores domestic risks and constraints on great powers, not relative rise and decline in international competition. They find that almost every regime transition before the twentieth century was instigated by internal challenges and even the exceptions deviated markedly from the predictions of power transition theory. Instead, East Asia was stable for a remarkably long time despite massive power differences because of common understandings about countries' relative status.
